Merry Christmas everyone!
Today was a great day full of happiness and joy :)
It started out with me sleeping past my alarm, which was awesome. Then I joined Serena and Elliot for brunch, and headed off to the center for our Chinese worship service. We had lots of fellowship with many Chinese--some Christians and some not. We celebrated Christmas with them for a while, then went off to another worship service, this time in English. We then proceeded to celebrate with good food and friends, and we exchanged gifts.
I am a little...well...strange when it comes to gifts. I do not like to buy gifts or receive them, really. I am very bad at picking out gifts, and I'd much rather spend time with someone than have them spend money on me. Don't get me wrong--I do like having something to unwrap. But it's not a big deal for me to not open presents. This morning I didn't have anything under the tree, but I am ok with that. I feel like it's not something that I am tied to...it's just stuff. I'd way rather just spend time with you :) So that's a hint if you ever have to get me a gift: just give me a 'gift certificate' to spend time with you...take me out to dinner or something like that. That's much more preferred.
Anyway, I got to spend that quality time with many different people today, and it was a great Christmas.
I hope that your Christmas is filled with wonderful times, and that you remember the TRUE meaning of Christmas--not the gifts, or not even the family. the true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ (which may or may not have happened on that actual day...most likely not...but it's still good to celebrate!) We celebrate that he became flesh and made his dwelling among us (John 1:1), and that he came to die on the cross to save us from all of our sins. If you've never heard this story before, check out the "my belief" tab on my blog. It highlights what Christ has done for us.
Merry Christmas to all in America, who still have over half a day of Christmas left!! :)
