Zhuhai!

Last weekend I had the opportunity to go to Zhuhai with some friends to eat dinner,
and then we took the bus to Starbucks and watched a delightful water show!
Here are some photos from the night!

Cupping

Today I accidentally tried cupping. Cupping is an Asian technique of basically using fire to suction a cup (or rather wood?) to your body to release the toxins. It is easy to see when someone has done it because of the distinctive cup shaped, brown marks left on the skin, all over the skin. I was told that cupping when done on the feet is less severe as they don't leave the suction on for so long, hence I have no bruising right now. Don't knock it till you try it. It wasn't actually that bad. At first I was nervous, because it was an accident that I tried it--I didn't know how to say it in Chinese, and I didn't have my glasses on, so I just agreed to whatever he was asking. Haha. But it was not bad.

Time

One difference between American and Asian cultures I the difference in time. I think that is my biggest culture shock. Now, in Macau it is not as common, but when I am friends with people from other countries, time is an issue. For example, I am sitting here writing this post, an hour after arriving at the restaurant still waiting for my friends. I am just glad for free wifi!! Sometimes the concept of time is forgotten or just ignored. It is really felt when you are alone, though. Well, that is my vent for the day!! Here are the chips and salsa that I devoured in the past hour!!

About a month ago we had a team from South Dakota come, but I never uploaded photos.  Here they are!
