Ok, so I'm not really moving up, but I am moving. Don't worry: I am staying in Macau! I am just moving to a new apartment. It's on one of the islands instead of on the peninsula. I am moving because my contract will not be renewed, and we're also planning to downsize the number of apartments we have at the moment. Anyway, I am excited to live in a quieter area of Macau where I have easier access to many foreign goods and restaurants, along with many Chinese goods and restaurants as well. I won't be able to walk to work anymore, however...not like I did it anyway ;) Hopefully I can buy a bicycle and ride it around the island! :)
So moving day will be next Monday. I have barely started packing, and I am not looking forward to that part. I lived in my current apartment for almost 2 years, and so moving and getting used to a new area of town will be 麻烦,but exciting at the same time. (麻烦 means troublesome. It's the word that we use to describe situations that are slightly annoying and troublesome...but we don't use the word troublesome much in English, so I have taken to using the Chinese! You pronounce it 'mah fahn')
I don't have much new information to share. I got a haircut in China a couple days ago, and I managed to do it all in Chinese. I used many hand motions and said 'I want this!' a lot in Chinese. But he eventually understood me, so I would consider that a success!
Thursday I will be going to the mainland again for lunch and karaoke with some students/friends. I am so excited! :) I never know where they will take me, and each time is a new adventure! I am so thankful that I have a multiple entry China visa so that I can go there as often as I would like! :)
I have a class that I am teaching in a matter of minutes, so I will sign off, but keep checking for more updates!
I have hit 36,900 page views: I am so blessed to have people checking it out! Thanks for constantly checking my blog and eagerly receiving information! :)
