I'm here!

Ok.  Sorry it took me so long to let you all know, but I am in Macau!  My apartment is getting set up, though it's a slow process: pictures to come later.  I don't have wireless, but only because I don't know the password: I'll be figuring that out later.  But I snooped through the apartment and found an ethernet cord that I was able to connect to the wireless router to get internet! :) That was the accomplishment of the morning.  The apartment is furnished.  All I have to do is put away my clothes and other belongings from the States.  There are 2 English TV stations, and one of them is a movie channel.  I watched a couple very random movies yesterday, interrupted by Chinese commercials :)

I am excited to be here, eating the food and soaking up the culture.  It is very hard when I don't speak their language, but I am slowly going to find ways to work around that.  I do not know when I will begin work, or when I will begin language lessons.  I do know this, though:

a) I am going to China today :)  It's mostly to pick someone up, but it's exciting that I'll be using my China visa!

b) Orientation starts on Tuesday.  I'll have a week of orientation, and then I don't know what: but something will happen :) as in start working? Not sure.

c) My AC is broken.  It works, then it doesn't, then it works again, then it doesn't again... and so on.  So someone is coming pretty much right now to fix it.

d) I have a 3 bedroom apartment.  Right now, I am the only occupant.  In 2 weeks, I will have a roommate who will stay for 2 months.  Then, assuming the other GEO (Hannah) hasn't come yet, I will live by myself again until Hannah comes.  This is all subject to change, but it's what I know as of now :)  I will have 3 people staying with me during orientation, though!  I'm excited about that :)

e) You may notice that my posts come from the future.  That's not a mistake...but sometimes I am a day ahead of those of you in the USA :)  It is a 13 or 14 hours time difference from central time (right now 13, and after daylight savings time it will be 14).
